Dental Sedation: For Stress-Free & Comfortable Care

November 28, 2023

If you suffer from dental anxiety, you’re not alone. According to statistics, dental anxiety affects an estimated 30 to 40 million people across the United States. If you are among the many who struggle with fear or anxiety when it comes time to visit the dentist, the office of KORsmiles Dental can help. Dedicated to the care and comfort of her patients, Dr. Korinne Grieger utilizes safe and controlled sedation techniques to alleviate your anxiety and make it less stressful to maintain excellent oral health.

Don’t let fear get in the way of maintaining a healthy, beautiful smile!

It’s no secret that patients who feel at ease during their visits are more likely to pursue the care they need. For patients who experience significant anxiety about trips to the dentist or a particular procedure, Dr. Grieger offers three options in conscious sedation, including inhalation sedation with nitrous oxide (laughing gas), oral sedation, and IV sedation.

In addition to helping patients feel most at ease, sedation typically makes a lengthy procedure feel like it’s over in just a few minutes. Although you’ll feel completely relaxed while sedated and not feel bothered by the moment-to-moment treatment details at all, you’ll still be able to respond to verbal cues from Dr. Grieger.

Of course, every patient is different, and tolerance, comfort, and anxiety levels vary. During this short video, Dr. Grieger explains the three types of sedation we offer at KORsmiles Dental:

Patient care, comfort, and safety are our top priorities!

Prioritizing patient safety and overall health is our primary concern, and we carefully prescribe and monitor dental sedation. Dr. Greiger will review your medical and dental history before recommending whether inhalation, oral, or IV sedation is appropriate. She will then advise you of any pre-appointment and post-op instructions and if an escort to or from your visit is required.

At KORsmiles Dental, we want you to receive the quality dental care you require to establish and maintain a healthy smile. To learn more about our office and the many services we offer, call us today!
